TALENTED teenagers are due to serve up a feast of musical magic this month at Congleton's Daneside Theatre.

Classic numbers from the 30s and 40s and Phantom of the Opera feature in Centre Stage Youth Theatre's show on Saturday, February 21.

Some 35 members of the fledgling Congleton-based theatre group are taking part in the evening, which is entitled Centre Stage Entertain.

The company boasts 45 members between 12 and 22 years of age, and the youngsters have spent six months rehearsing for their forthcoming show.

"It is intended as a variety show, combining song, dance and humour,'' said Joy Masterson, one of the back stage team for the production.

"We try to get everyone involved in the show, and the youngsters are all very enthusiastic in what is a fairly new company.''

Hit songs from Disney films such as The Lion King and The Little Mermaid also feature on the bill for the show, which is being directed and produced by Yvonne Wilde.

Centre Stage Entertains is also raising money towards the company's main production of the year, the classic 42nd Street, due to be staged in September.
