ALSAGER'S hockey men earned a famous victory on Saturday with a 4-2 win at league leaders Liverpool University.
Alsager got off to a bad start, going a goal behind after 12 minutes, only for Gareth Mitchell to pull Alsager level soon after when he fired home following a penalty corner.
Alsager took a 2-1 lead on 23 minutes when the in form Richard Cooper broke down the right before firing home under the advancing keeper.
The away side increased their lead within a minute of the restart when Cooper saw his shot turned in by a Liverpool defender.
As the students pressed forward Alsager grabbed a fourth with a breakaway goal from Carl Deaville 10 minutes from time.
Liverpool scored a consolation second on 62 minutes.
