POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a pile-up on the M56 in which a woman suffered serious injuries.
The accident, involving the car and two heavy goods vehicles, happened on Friday afternoon on the eastbound section between Lymm and Stretton.
Fire crews were called to free the woman from the wreckage and she was taken to hospital. The two lorry drivers escaped injury. Contact the motorway police on 01244 350000.
