WARRINGTON'S Ringwise boxing team enjoyed a clean sweep at a show in North Wales as rising star Craig Winter put in another blistering display.

All four Ringwise boxers entered on the night came up trumps, but Winter's fight at the Springfield Hotel, near Holywell, was one to remember.

Winter scored his 14th win in 15 contests with a points victory over Birmingham's hard-punching Jimmy Vincent.

In his previous contest, Vincent had gone the distance with the world's number one ranked contender for the light-middleweight title, Ahmed Doutoev of Russia, so this was an exceptional victory for Winter and one which should push him into the British title picture.

Lightweight Andy Ross enjoyed his first professional success, after two draws and three defeats previously, with a clear points decision over Chris Lyons. Ross richly deserved the win for his hard work and perseverence since turning pro.

Heavyweight Mal Rice stretched his unbeaten record to two wins from two contests with a points victory over Lennox Williams from Nottingham.

Middleweight Shane Thomas conceded half a stone to Lee Simpkin of Birmingham but was too fast for his bigger opponent and stopped him in the sixth and final round of their contest.
