RAILWAY enthusiasts in Winsford and Middlewich are being invited to book their places on a railtour which takes in the famous Settle and Carlisle line.

The scenic tour takes place on May 16 and features a number of miles of track not open to regular passenger services, including the line between Stockport and Guide Bridge.

Permission has also been granted for the 12-coach special train to stop to allow passengers to get out and see the famous Ribblehead Viaduct.

The train leaves from Sandbach at 8.45am and ticket prices are £30 for adults and £23 for children. To book, call Cheshire Railtours on 01984 640005.
