RELEGATION fears surfaced again for Middlewich Athletic as Bacup Borough crushed them 5-0 on Saturday in their North West Counties Division Two encounter.

After a good recent run it was disappointing to see this collapse, especially as the home side were actually below Dave Twite's men at the start of play.

But by the end of the game Bacup had leapfrogged the Robins due to the massive swing in goal difference which this rout produced.

Now the Robins go into Saturday's home game against Warrington outfit Tetley Walker with a desperate need to patch up the holes in their defence.

Before then all eyes will be on tomorrow, Thursday's draw for the Mid-Cheshire Challenge Cup in which the Robins first team could be paired with the reserve side.
