ENTRIES are being taken for the prestigious open bowls competition run on Sunday evenings at Wharton Cons Club, starting on Sunday, April 12 and ending with the final eight on Sunday, August 24.
Entries of £15 should be forwarded to organiser Stewart Bailey at 22, Plover Avenue, Winsford, tel 01606 593902.
No home players are allowed in the event which was won last year by Brian Duncan, of Preston. Prize money is £3,000 with £1,000 going to the winner.
This year's event is sponsored by Bass Brewery, WHS Wholesale, Rowan Building Contractors, Stretton Leisure and Dickenson Bros.
Organiser Stewart Bailey stated he was once again very pleased with the excellent sponsorship and he hoped the local Mid Cheshire bowlers would try their hand against the best bowlers in the country.
He said: "We proved in the British Parks competition that in Mid Cheshire we have bowlers to compete with the best in the country."
