WINSFORD Cricket Club are certainly not kidding around with their selection policy this year.
Jonathan Millington and Richard Evers have both been regulars in the second team's assault on the championship, which gathered pace with victory over Lindow on Saturday (report, page 71).
And the duo helped put the club on the cricketing map last Wednesday with their selection to represent the Cheshire Meller Braggins League under-15s team at Oakmere.
John Millington, Winsford CC's junior manager and second team regular, is proud of what the lads are doing for the club.
He said: "This gives us a great sense of pride. All the hard work and dedication of myself and a few other senior cricketers at the club seems to have set the foundations and this is now showing.
"Jonathan is developing into an excellent spinner and Richard is impressing as an opening batsman and wicketkeeper.
"The junior section already boasts under-11s, 13s and 15s, and hopefully next season the under-18s will help Winsford Cricket Club prosper well into the next millennium."
