Winsford 238-3, Lindow 114
WINSFORD, with skipper Andy Johnson returning after a knee injury, lost the toss and were asked to bat on a difficult looking wicket.
Paul Yearsley and Barry Crellin started well, scoring fluently and reaching 84 off just 14 overs before Crellin was caught on the boundary having just reached his 50.
Torlop joined Yearsley at the crease, but never looked settled before being caught behind off Skewes.
Skipper Johnson followed, having scored a quickfire 21, and with the score now on 149 Winsford increased the tempo by sending the fast-scoring Dean to aid the dependable Yearsley.
This pairing quickly piled on the runs and the Winsford innings finished at 238-3 with Yearsley unbeaten on 103 and Dean 42 not out.
The Winsford bowlers, aided by some exceptional fielding by Lakin and Torlop, took wickets at regular intervals and bowled out the home side for 114.
The Winsford bowlers were Dean 4-32, Crellin 3-19, Beswick 2-31 and Dean 1-26.
