This just smacks of the worst bureaucratic vanity of people in charge of this council.

The council is supposedly there to administer to the needs of its people - in this case, it seems that the people are seen merely as a trifling annoyance, to be ignored at all costs.

I moved to Lostock 10 years ago, choosing the area because of its greenfield site, not in spite of it.

I moved out of Manchester to get away from developments such as those proposed, and I have thanked God on many occasions that, when out walking with my dogs, or going for a cycle ride, I can look out over the fields and trees of this area, feeling that it would be there forever. Now it would seem that I, and all the other villagers, are to have the countryside removed from our view, simply because the council have the view that business is best.

I urge the council to think again. Listen to the voices of the people, listen to the government inspectors.

We do not want this in our area!
