KNYPERSLEY Football Club got the season off to a silverware-winning start by taking the Joe McGorian Charity Cup.
The cup is traditionally played for by the winners of the League Cup, in this case Knypersley, and the league champions.
But champions Bloxwich Town were unable to make the fixture so runners up Rocester stepped in.
Knypersley won 2-0 with a goal on 65 minutes by Craig Redgate and a 90th minute penalty by Terry Stanway,
On Saturday Knypersley's league campaign gets underway with an away match at Bridgnorth.
