FOUR estates in Runcorn could be boosted to the tune of up to a £1 million as the controlling housing association seeks to upgrade its areas.
Riverside Housing Association is hoping to spend the money on new and improved community facilities.
The trust has asked a consultant to report on the possibility of creating leisure facilities for young people at Hallwood Park. Other schemes are also under consideration.
Spokesman Steve Gill said: "We would be prepared to put quite a lot of capital into these. We are hoping to be on with these projects in this financial year."
He said that there was a lack of play areas for youngsters because residents had opted for larger gardens instead of open spaces when the estates were being planned.
"We are currently looking at establishing a toddlers' lock-up park. We would be looking to link up with other initiatives, such as Single Regeneration Budget."
He added that the money would be spent on community facilities across RHA's four estates in Runcorn, but that details are being finalised.
