BINMEN are planning strike action in Halton following disciplinary action against a former employee.
A spokesperson for Halton Council said: "We have been notified by the GMB union that some of their members will be holding three one-day strikes in the coming weeks.
"The first is set to take place on Monday, August 17 which means there will be some disruption to services.
"The majority of the members are in the refuse collection, street cleansing and parks and gardens areas.
"Action has been taken to minimise disruption and, as there is only a small percentage of staff involved, we would expect all other services to be available to the public as normal.
"If members of the public encounter any difficulties in contacting the main switchboard, there is a full list of council direct dial telephone numbers on page 158 of the local telephone directory."
