ARE MYSTERIOUS forces at work on the site of Warrington Hospital? Or could it be something in the water?
Since moving to offices near the new Fledglings nursery, the Human Resources Department has experienced a baby boom. Seven members of staff have given birth or become pregnant and two members of staff have become grandmothers.
The fun started in January 1997 when Jane Noonan gave birth to baby Rebecca and she is expecting her second child in September. Secretary, Tracy Lawton, was next. She gave birth to Zoe in March last year.
By this time, another secretary, Jane Hemmings, was also pregnant. Marcus Charles arrived in August weighing 8lb 5oz.
Next in line was clinical training officer, Sandra Longshaw, whose daughter, Claire, gave birth to Luke Anthony in January. Spring 1998, heralded the arrival of three more babies. Jocelyn Franklin gave birth to Jamie in March, while Judy Lawrie welcomed her daughter Megan and Kathryn Hanglin gave birth to Lewis Philip in May.
The latest arrival is baby Jake who was born this month to mum, Caroline Green. His grandmother, Kath Melvin, is accommodation services officer in the department.
And the women are looking forward to the next new addition to their troops, assistant health and safety advisor Judy Ball will be joining Jane Noonan in the maternity ward in September.
