THE Bernard Long Summer Coaching School was held at the Auto Quest Stadium this week with more than 90 children taking part.
For two hours a day, for five days, the budding young rugby stars were put through their paces by Bernard, his coaching colleagues, first team Vikings players and apprenticeship players.
The kids were given lots of useful tips and advice for the future. As well as providing refreshments, the club also gave the youngsters a tour of the Auto Quest Stadium and presented them with a t-shirt and certificate for taking part.
Arthur Murray, a director of the club, said: "It's a great occasion for the children. Not only does it keep them occupied during the summer holidays but, as rugby fans, it gives them the opportunity to improve their skills.
"This annual event wouldn't be possible, however, without the financial support from the ICI Foundation, Albright & Wilson and Sportsmatch, which is part of the department of National Heritage."
