Widnes Albion Bulls 30
Bank Quay Bulls 14
IN a hastily arranged friendly fixture, Widnes Albion gave a chance to over 30 players to shake off the cobwebs.
Coaches, Eric Wood and Tony Yates, were pleased with everyone against a team who were certainly no pushover.
Played in four quarters, to enable both sides to make changes, Albion found themselves 0-4 down, despite having the majority of the possession and territory.
Two converted tries gave Albion a 12-10 lead at half-way and another eased them ahead before Bank Quay hit back with an unconverted try.
However, Albion's superior fitness told in the end and two tries took them into an unassailable lead and they now go into their second friendly at Blackpool this Saturday in fine spirits.
Albion scorers: Tries; Paul Davies (3), Tony Myler, Ian littler, Goals; Chris Fenlon (4), Mahar.
