HALTON College has appointed a new acting principal as the investigation into the previous management continues.
John Bolton, former head of Calderdale and Blackburn Colleges, replaces Christine Tyler who is leaving to take a job with a college in Salford.
College spokesman Tony Wynn told the World the appointment of an outside person does not spell the end for previous incumbent Martin Jenkins.
"This in no way means that Mr Jenkins will not be coming back," he said.
The findings of the FeFc enquiry should be released by October, he added.
