A DRAMA student has taken his acting a step further up the career ladder by being chosen from thousands of entertainers to perform on Michael Barrymore's TV show.
Michael Denysenko, of Redshank Avenue, Winsford, has been invited to appear on Barrymore's My Kind of People and perform a funky rap song.
The teenager, who attends West Cheshire School of Dance and Drama in Ellesmere Port, will go before the camera with his drama school friend Rebecca Tomlinson, who lives in Widnes.
The talented duo, who plan to wear baggy dungarees and bomber jackets for their rap act in the show, are both just 18 and quite nervous about becoming TV stars.
Michael said: "We are a little worried but that's not a bad thing because it gives a certain edge to the performance.
"Rebecca is perhaps a little more nervous because she was more into dancing than acting and singing until she hurt her back in car accident.
"Recording will take place on Friday, when we will be picked up from Manchester on a coach bound for The Metro Centre in Newcastle.
"Apparently Michael Barrymore will be on the coach with us. I'm looking forward to meeting him, although he's just a normal down-to-earth man at the end of the day and I'm not as nervous about meeting him as I would be, say if it was the Spice Girls. I've heard he's really friendly.
"We have already performed the rap hundreds of times before. It's about having a good time. We originally adapted the rap for a college production called Step by Step.
"I wrote the whole show for part of my course."
Michael has just finished doing a B-tec which included an A-level in theatre studies and GCSE dance. His next career step will be to sign up with an agent to get singing and dancing work.
He added: "We're not sure when it will be broadcast on TV, but we are really looking forward to it."
