A GOLF tournament is to be staged to boost the charity appeal being run by the Mayor of Vale Royal, Cllr Keith Musgrave.

The competition will take the form of a four person Texas Scramble and will be held on Sunday September 20 at Knights Grange Golf Course, Winsford.

Cllr Musgrave had a successful heart transplant more than four years ago and he is hoping to raise in excess of £4,000 during his year of office for the New Heart New Start Appeal.

The entrance fee is £48 per team which includes green fees. There will be prizes for the wining team, longest drive and nearest the pin. Tee times are from 7.30 to 9.30am.

The competition is open to men and women and no official handicap is required.
