Police have been called out to Victoria Wine on Clifton Drive up to three times a week.

"One night there were six police cars here - and a police van," said Lynda Houghton, who's been manageress and lived above the shop since February last year.

"I'm just sick to death of feeling scared to go out - I daren't even take my dog out for a walk."

Lynda, 46, has kept a diary of what she's been forced to put up with - youths vandalising her front door with paint, using it as a toilet and even sleeping there.

Now she plans to send the dossier to the police.

She says they watch her and swear at her, kick and throw balls at her wall at night, try to smash the windows, set her burglar alarm off and light fireworks in the shop.

"They say I smell and that they don't want me here - unless you're born on the Leftwich Estate they don't like you.

"When my son came to stay, some youths said they were going to break his neck - because he's an outsider.

"It's a hard enough job being a licensee as it is.

"I have to face pure harassment and intimidation. They are making my life hell.

"I'm on anti-depressants because I've been pushed to the limit of a breakdown.

"At the moment I'm just sticking in there. Doctors have told me to get out, but if I do I'll lose my job and my home. Maybe the parents of these children should just realise how close they are coming to losing their shop.

"They will suffer in the end."

A spokesman from Cheshire police said: "We take a lot of calls from members of the public concerned about the anti-social behaviour of young people, especially during the summer months.

"We are trying to introduce a level of policing that results in a reduction of these incidents."
