CREWE Alex are still waiting to hear about a work permit for New Zealand international centre half Danny Hay
The 23-year-old is due to join the Alex, for an undisclosed fee, following trials this summer trial but is unlikely to arrive this week.
"We are just waiting to hear," said Crewe boss Dario Gradi . "He would be a good presence for us against Bury but I don't think he'll be here by then."
Fellow new signing Andy Lovelock has a groin strain and Mark Rivers and Lee Unsworth are suffering from hamstring injuries.
Steve Anthrobus is back in training and Steve Macauley is making progress following a prolonged ankle injury.
"It will be a few months yet, he's got to have a couple of months training with the squad before he can play in a game. But he's further advanced than he has been," added Dario.
