RUGBY League players are polishing up their match play for Saturday's opener against Stafford with a trial 'run' against the local Union club.
The friendly on Tuesday was due to be played at the Vagrants ground to League rules - at the invitation of the RU squad.
"We're very grateful to the Union lads for the trial run and it's great that the two sports can get together in that way," said League spokesman Phil Johnson.
The League team's start of season preparations include a visit on Wednesday by the national director and coach.
Their new kit has come from the Warrington Wolves Super League Club.
