THE BID to provide Nantwich youngster Sophie Woolgar with a sensory room will get a boost from thirteen runners this weekend.
A group of South Cheshire Harriers will be taking part in the club's sixth Cheshire Ring Challenge - a three day sponsored run on a 97 mile circuit of canal towpaths from Kidsgrove to Marple and back again.
The Challenge will once again raise money for the handicapped children's canal boat, the Beatrice. But part of the proceeds will go towards the fund to provide a room where cerebral palsy sufferer Sophie - and other local youngsters with similar needs - can get vital stimulatin.
Thanks to sponsorship from the Nantwich Canal Centre and Fabric Creations and the fact that the runners cover their own expenses, all of the sponsorship money will go to the two schemes.
Raffle tickets sold before and during the run offer prizes that inclue a narrowboat holiday and a weekend theatre break.
