ANIMAL loving licensees at The Imperial pub in Crewe have been rewarded for their work raising money for the RSPCA.
Licensees Jeff and Susan Bratherton, who run the Clubhouse Bar at the Imperial, turned the pub's relaunch into a fund-raiser for the animal charity.
The decision to raise money for the society followed the horrific discovery of dead animals further along from the pub at the Crewe Animal Rescue Centre in Edleston Road.
The RSPCA has become the pub's adopted charity because Jeff and Susan have two rescue dogs, Cindy, aged 18, and Aimme, aged 10.
RSPCA husband and wife team Ken and Pam Parks rewarded their efforts with a certificate to commemorate their support and continued commitment.
"Generous regulars clubbed together to raise nearly £400 for the RSPCA," said Jeff.
"It was the best kind of result we could have asked for on our opening night and it will be even better once every ill treated animal has found a new home in the community.
"Nothing beats the loyalty of these special creatures and The Imperial will continue to stay loyal to Crewe's rescued animals."
Pam and Ken Parks present the certificate to Jeff and Susan Bratherton watched by Peter White of Greenalls and Cindy and Aimme.
