BUDDING batsman Keith Kellett has bowled his team mates and opponents over with a century last week followed by a 94 on Saturday.

The 15-year-old was the toast of the Rolls-Royce 2nd eleven after his mammoth 100 stand with team-mate Steve Hinde who notched up 71. Their partnership clinched the match on 219 for two declared after just 32 overs.

Opponents, Sneyd, were all out for 60.

"I hit ten fours but no sixes. Most of my total was made of ones and twos. It was very hot work but Steve gave me lots of encouragement and help," said Keith.

Last Saturday, against Kidsgrove, he nearly made it two centuries in a row!

His current form has spurred him on as he hits out for a cricketing career.

He's looking for a sponsor so that he can develop his skills.

"It costs quite a bit to attend coaching courses and for travel and kit. I really want to be good enough to play for England one day. It would be great if I could get some backing," he added.

He's been mad about cricket since he was eleven, playing with school and youth teams. He had his first game for Rolls-Royce three years ago.

His dad, Keith snr, has been a regular member of the Rolls team and still plays now and again. He had joined his son as part of the second eleven team and watched proudly as Keith junior batted his way into the club's history books.

Not only is the lad its youngest century scorer, but his 100 is the first for the seconds in 5 years.

After leaving Crewe's Victoria High School this summer Keith is preparing to take A levels at the South Cheshire College, including sports studies.

He and his family live in West Street, Crewe. If anyone can help with sponsorship they can contact them on 589300.
