MIDDLEWICH Town have struck a sponsorship deal with Warrington-based employment specialists Manpower for their 1998-99 MId-Cheshire League campaign.

Their name will appear on the Witches' shirts throughout the season.

Town chairman Steve Morris was at Seddon Street to secure the deal with Manpower operations manager Malcolm McGreevy on Saturday, prior to the club's opening home fixture.

Mr McGreevy said: "We wanted to demonstrate our continued commitment to people both young and old in the area and as such are pleased to offer our support to Middlewich Town FC.

"I would like to join all their supporters in wishing the club every success in this their first full season."

Middlewich are eighth in the Green Contract Services Mid-Cheshire League after three games.

Last Tuesday, Town won 4-1 away at Whitchurch before Saturday's first home match, a 3-2 defeat by Garswood Town (report on page 78).
