THIS was yet another depleted Chemics side which travelled to Chrisleton.
After 20 minutes a defensive slip-up allowed the Chrisleton centre-forward to score.
However, just before half-time Peter Houghton lobbed the home keeper from outside the box to put the Chemics level at this stage.
The second-half saw five Chemics players and two Chrisleton players booked, despite this being far from a game played in bad spirits.
The winning goal came 15 minutes from time after the home side's left-back hammered a shot to take the full points.
Chemics fought back and were unfortunate not to draw after Paul Howard rattled the crossbar in injury time.
Man-of-the-match, Pete Houghton.
CHEMICS started without Micky Hill, Mark Ingham and club captain Gary Moore but showed more commitment and took the game to the opposition.
They were unfortunate to go behind after keeper Littler misjudged a cross and Richards headed home for the Police.
Shortly after this Paul Howard was brought down by the keeper and, surprisingly, the referee took no action. Howard got his revenge latching onto a pass from Daz Moore to this time successfully round the keeper and score.
On the restart Chemics battled away and the old warhorse, Houghton, put a brave header in to score a fine goal, injuring himself in the process.
The Police again responded with a headed equaliser.
It was then that the Chemics front line missed a series of chances, before a high ball into the Police penalty area was collected by man-of-the-match, Mark Savage, to drive home and win the game.
The next games are Mond Rangers on August 26, kick-off 6.30pm and Heswall at home on August 29, kick-off 3pm.
The Bill Weight Final against Poulton Vics at Cammel Lairds is on Bank Holiday Monday, kick-off 11am.
The tote winner for week ending Saturday, August 22 was number 16, £100 winner was Paul Howard.
