UNEMPLOYMENT in Congleton is running at almost less than half the national rate.
The figure for Congleton for June was 2.4 per cent, compared with 4.5 per cent for Great Britain. It is slightly higher than the 2.1 per cent in Macclesfield, but compared well with the 4.1 and 5.1 per cent for Crewe and the North West respectively.
