CREWE police have appealed for witnesses to a brutal attack which occurred in town earlier this month.
A 48-year-old male was assaulted on Flag Lane Bridge when he refused to give two underage smokers a cigarette.
The man, who has long white hair and was wearing a Stetson hat and a long black coat, was punched in the face then kicked while he was on the floor.
He was admitted to Leighton Hospital with a fractured cheekbone, a broken nose and two black eyes. He has since been released.
Police are now asking for the public's help to find the two youths, aged around 15, who committed the attack at 7.30pm on August 14.
The first youth had red ear-length hair, was of a medium build and was wearing a red track suit. The second had short dark hair and was of slim build.
Anyone with information should contact Crewe Police on 01270 500222.
