A NEW season of mini-league football begins in Widnes this month when young children get the chance to play and learn the game every Sunday.
The league kicks off on September 13 at Fairfield School Astro-turf pitches.
Organiser Wally Spencer said that the league is open to boys and girls.
The mini-league has been going from strength to strength in the four years since it started, with 250 children involved last season.
There are 27 teams in all, divided by age into three groups. It's open to children between ages five and twelve.
Registration of players is next Sunday at Fairfield astro-turf pitch from 1pm to 3pm.
