A TEENAGE girl was rushed to hospital with injuries following a car accident involving 10 people on Thursday night.
Police closed the road were Fiat Uno driven by Libyan student Ally Own, 24, collided with a taxi, bearing six passengers, at the junction between Runcorn High Street and Mersey Road at 1.40am.
One of the passengers in the Fiat Uno, 18-year-old Lisa Smith, from Runcorn, was rushed to Warrington Hospital with a suspected serious injury.
But initial fears were not borne out and she was making a steady recovery.
The driver of the taxi, Kenneth Price, and his six passengers, five men and a girl from Halton Brook, all received slight injuries, as did the third Fiat passenger Abdul Cajun.
Mr Own, a student at Wigan, has been bailed pending further inquiries.
Halton police are appealing for witnesses to the accident to come forward. Ring the traffic division on 01244 613766.
