MARATHON men Jeff Keach and Chris Fernyhough raised more than £700 for terminally-ill children by running in a local 26-miler.
Jeff and Chris, both from Alsager, raised the money for the Hope House Children's Hospice by competing in the annual Potteries marathon.
For Chris it was his first marathon, and he finished in four hours 20 minutes, with Jeff, who celebrated his 50th birthday the same day, achieving a time of just over three hours.
The two are friends of hospice trustee Philip Eardley, and presented a cheque to Mr Eardley at his home in Winston Avenue, Alsager.
Five members of the Alsager Friends of Hope House raised more than £100 with an annual collection at the Little Chef M6 services at Sandbach.
Alsager Rotary Club has donated £1,000 to the hospice from its swimathon, and the Alsager friends group is due to take part in the annual charities market in Alsager on September 12.
