RESIDENTS attended a meeting this week to air their views on plans for a community woodland.

People living in the Linley Road area of Alsager have already met with borough council officers to draw up draft plans and ideas of how the local woodland would look.

These plans were put on show at the public meeting on Monday at the Linley Mission.

The residents' ideas include a woodland at the top of end of the field, with room for a small football pitch and somewhere for children to play safely where they can be seen.

Other ideas include paths going into the woodland, archways, logs to sit on to encourage wildlife and possibly a dog toilet with bins and a supply of poop scoops.'

Council officers are hoping to involve schools, community groups and individuals in the scheme.
