CHESHIRE Police have launched a traffic strategy to reduce the number of fatal and injury road accidents.
Between 1990 and 1997 the number of fatal accidents across Cheshire dropped by 32 per cent with the number of fatalities down by 37 per cent, but the total number of accidents involving injury increased by 13 per cent.
The strategy has six key intentions:
Reducing fatal and injury accidents through enforcement and education
Providing a professional standard of service dealing with road incidents.
Improve driver behaviour
Reduce vehicle related offences
Work with other agencies to improve safety of roads
Improve safety of vehicles
