MEMBERS of the Cheshire Academy for Integrated Sport and Arts are fighting the decision to build a car dealership near their building.
The land on Macon Way was the site of the Homeleigh Day Care Centre before it was demolished and was approved by councillors on Thursday to become a dealership for LC Charles.
The Academy had hoped to build a respite care centre on the land which had a covenant on it to say it could only be used as a home for children with special needs.
Director Iain Chalmers objected to the plans and said the matter will be going to a land tribunal which could take up to two years.
He added that the council had offered help to the volunteers in any way it could and they would be looking around for other land to build a respite centre on and possibly move the academy to.
