CREWE Citizens Advice Bureau has been given £1,000 by the Halifax Building Society.
The award is part of the building society's ongoing programme of support for the local community and will help to fund the CAB's debt counselling service.
Wendy Tozer, manager of Crewe's CAB said: "We are grateful to the Halifax for providing financial support which we currently need because of the continued increase in debt-related enquiries."
Peter Maskrey, manager of the Halifax in Crewe, said: "The Halifax has supported local Citizens Advice Bureaux and Money Advice Centres throughout the UK for a number of years.
"We are happy to continue to help with their invaluable work."
