WESTON farmers who saw a lifetime's work go up in smoke have blasted the local water authority after a nearby fire hydrant failed in their hour of need.
The barnfire at Carters Green Farm in Jack Lane last Wednesday took two days to put out as firefighters had to shuttle water from the nearest working hydrant a mile away.
