Grappenhall 122 all out
Toft 123 for 2
TOFT put their recent blips behind them on Saturday at Booths Park - and crushed Grappenhall.
Although their title hopes are no longer a possibility, they virtually assured themselves of a top half of the table position - and a highly-prized place in next season's new Cheshire County League First Division.
Grappenhall had seemed well placed at 73 for 2, but constant pressure from Toft's spinning duo of Bertenshaw and Locke paid off and once a breakthrough had been made, wickets began to tumble.
The last 8 wickets fell for just 49 runs.
Ronnie Locke was the destroyer-in-chief with five wickets for 55 off 24 overs, Paul Bertenshaw supporting with 2 for 45 off 20 overs.
In reply, Toft's Chris Sheldon opened the innings with skipper Muirhead, which helped to give the team the sound start they needed in a partnership of 54 for the first wicket, Sheldon making 25.
However, it was Muirhead leading from the front again who took the batting honours, scoring 63.
He was supported superbly by Andy Bones in a match-winning partnership of 66, Bones equally careful and well focused scoring 24 not out.
Toft won with 9 overs to spare.
