IN RECENT correspondence in your columns, Councillor Peter Black, who is in charge of Warrington's highway committee, has had the chance to tell us his strategy for solving the transport problems in the south of the town. He has failed to come up with anything remotely convincing.
The promised integrated Transport Study has not yet taken place, so I repeat my original question - in the absence of an overall plan, is it sensible to let the Latchford Crossing and the line of the old railway go? I think not. Grappenhall and Thelwall Parish Council think not. Many local residents think not.
So does Councillor Black agree that this land corridor has strategic importance and should be retained for the study? Or is this "a bridge too far" for him?
