TWO goals described as 'screamers' were not enough to secure Town their first North Western Trains League point of the season on Tuesday.
A disrupted defence, after two players had failed to turn up, cost them dearly.
Fans' favourite Fadi Hanna smashed home Town's first equaliser. After one of his typical mazey runs he let rip with a 30-yard belter which screached into the net.
But Daisy Hill goaled again before half-time to leave Town with it all to do in the second half.
They thought they had done enough when Paul Berry almost ripped the net with another long range effort but the home side secured their win against the run of play five minutes from time.
Manager Steve Jackson played from the start due to the defensive disruptions and ex-Birmingham City contracted player James Wall made his debut up front.
Club official and former manager Dave Hughes said: "It was one-way traffic in the second half. That was the best we've played in the league so far. In fact their manager popped his head out of the dugout when they scored the winner and said to me he felt like Dick Turpin.
"Our two goals were screamers and two goals should be enough to win you a game but we defended poorly and we paid the price."
