NORTON A stormed to the top of Section Two after a 6-3 triumph over previous leaders Grangeway.
Third placed Docksiders lost their outside chance of the title when they went down to Norton Arms and the losers now find themselves in joint third place along with Pavilions who ran out convincing winners against bottom of the table Weston Point SC.
Waterloo's 6-3 victory against Halton Marauders included a 14-dart game from O'Connor.
Likely Lads slipped up badly in their quest for the Section Three title when they lost out 7-2 to Pirates, resulting in the winners moving up to second place with the losers slipping to third.
Blarney Stone's Corless produced a 113 finish but his team have slipped to fourth place after losing out 6-3 to leaders RNA and the winners are now virtually certain to take the title.
There were good results for teams at the foot of the table with bottom teams Fiddlers III beating Crofters 5-4 and Tanners A changing places with Outcasts after winning this fixture 7-2.
After making certain of the Section One championship the previous week, Albion finally lost their unbeaten record when they went down 6-3 to Halfway A.
This match produced maximums from Halfway A's Littler and Albion's N Dunbebin.
The quickest game of the week came from Dockside B's T Humphries who finished in 11 darts in helping his team to overcome Halfway Gents 7-2.
Lion Doo Waps' Roberts hit a maximum and went on to help his team to move up to fourth place after they beat Wanderers 7-2.
With the leading two teams in Section Four both having open dates, third and fourth placed Railway and Draymen were able to move level on points with the leading two teams.
Railway ran out 8-1 winners over The Legion with Draymen beating Grapes Apes by the odd game.
Union Tavern knew only too well that they had to beat Section Five leaders Dreadnaughts to have any chance of taking the section championship.
Not only did they beat the leaders but they did it in emphatic style when they won 8-1 and these two teams are now level on points.
Windy Lads now find themselves in third place after beating Dock Lads 6-3, the losers slipping to fourth place.
Total Confusion were 4-2 in front against Newcastle but had no further players in attendance, thus resulting in Newcastle gaining their first victory of the season.
The Doubles Competition final will be an all-Albion affair after last Friday's third round of the competition played at the Waterloo Hotel.
The Neil Dunbebin-Roy Chiocchi combination will take on Paul Melia and John Kilkenny.
