AN AUTUMN season of creative workshops was launched this week by Halton Council.
The arts development team is keen to encourage talented local adults and children to take part in a range of arts activities.
From dance classes, youth theatre and drama to music, lighting and sound, there is wide range to choose from.
Children were invited to Runcorn Town Hall to launch the leaflets which are being used to publicise the programme.
Young people will have a chance to learn all sorts of creative dance from jazz, hip-hop and contemporary to street dance and styles performed on pop videos.
Weekly classes start this week at the Queens Hall studio, Lacey Street, Widnes.
A series of on-going workshops for young people, using theatre games, drama exercises, improvisation and role-play also kicked off this week.
There's a chance to take part in a range of plays and productions.
No experience is necessary, just enthusiasm and energy!
Adults are not being forgotten.
A series of drama workshops led by Andy Spokes, part-time lecturer in performing arts, started in Churchill Hall, Cooper Street, Runcorn, this week.
These offer adults an introduction to acting techniques, improvisation, scriptwork and devising. There will also be an opportunity for participants to create their own theatre piece.
Weekly music workshops are also included in this autumn programme.
Sessions are being held in Halton village youth centre, Bluebell Lodge, King Arthurs Walk, Castlefields, Runcorn.
The workshops explore vocal and recording techniques and offer the opportunity to jam with like-minded musicians.
They run every Tuesday from 1pm-5pm and are free.
It is easy to book - just call the arts department on 0151-424 2061.
