ALSAGER picked up a valuable 17 points at Widnes last weekend to edge them ever closer to Premiership survival.
The visitors batted first and notched up a creditable score of 209 for six, with notable performances including a quick 39 runs from Paul Radage, a patient 44 from Eddie Gilhooly and another quickfire innings of 38 from Ken South.
In reply Widnes only managed a total of 134 for nine, but their last batsmen just held out to frustrate the Alsager bowling attack.
Despite their disappointment at not mopping up the tail Paul Kibbets, four wickets, and West Indian Eddie Burnett, three wickets, still put on a fine display.
