MOORLANDS district council chairman Doris Lythgoe is pictured encouraging people, especially the young, not to lose their vote.
Mrs Lythgoe, from Biddulph, is helping promote a campaign aimed at ensuring people have a vote in the May 1999 local government elections and June's European poll.
"It is your democratic right to vote, but if you do not register you effectively have no voice,'' she said.
"The young people of today are the citizens of tomorrow, which is why we need them to get involved in democracy and have their say."
Registration forms are due to be posted to every household in the Moorlands this month.
