TRIBUTES have been flooding in for a Crewe man who was killed in a tragic road accident last weekend.
Matthew Lester, of Churton Close, Hough was driving through Wrine Hill, near Newcastle when he lost control of the Ford Capri he was driving, collided with a grass verge and tipped the car onto its roof.
The 25-year-old car mechanic was pronounced dead at the scene.
Neighbour and family friend Terry Butler said he would be sorely missed.
"He was one of those people that people really took to. He liked a joke and was never any bother to anyone," he said.
"He was just a typical lad really. If his friends ever got into any scrapes he would always be there for them.
"You couldn't dislike the bloke because he spoke to everybody. He was really laid back and a great person to know."
Mr Butler said Matthew worked with his father as a mechanic.
"Not only has his father lost a son, but he has also lost a workmate," he said.
"He loved football and ironically he loved his car. He was always tinkering with it.
"He was so full of life and he lived it to the full. He will be sadly missed in the village because he had a lot of friends and was a good neighbour. It came as a shock to everybody."
