A GROUND-BREAKING religious ceremony is being held this evening (Wednesday) to celebrate the induction of a Catholic priest and an Anglican vicar.
St Basil and All Saints Church, which is shared by Roman Catholics and Anglicans, is holding a historic induction at 8pm.
Catholic priest Fr Kevin Kelly and Anglican vicar the Rev Guy Elsmore are believed to be the first religious ministers of different denominations to share an induction ceremony.
The Rev Fr Kelly has already started work in the Upton parish in Hough Green Road.
Mr Elsmore will not be allowed to work until after his formal induction, institution and installation.
