HORNETS started the new campaign in impressive style with a fine team performance in a tough pre-season friendly.
Lee Abbott and Paul Argent had already collected tries before Leigh got their first points on the board with a pushover effort.
Gareth Tudor gave the Hornets some half-time breathing space with a well-worked try and - despite being down to twelve men for the second period - Abbott grabbed his second touch-down of the day to wrap up a well-merited victory.
