BUNNY girl Sharon Weaver is mad about rabbits and knows so much about her furry friends that she has become North West advisor to the House Rabbit Association.
Sharon, of Oldham Street, Latchford, will be taking part in the first National Rabbit Day on September 26, an event which hopes to promote adoption and sponsorship of rabbits in shelters and the neutering of people's pets.
She is also keen to stress that rabbits shouldn't just be kept in a hutch at the bottom of the garden, but can become trained household pets like cats and dogs.
"The idea of house rabbits has come from America, where they have been doing it for years," Sharon explained.
"People think they are stupid animals, but it isn't true. Any rabbit can be trained to use a litter tray just like a cat or a dog."
Sharon is also a member of the Rabbit Charity which is organising National Rabbit Day. There is a free rabbit care pack on offer, which is available by writing to The Rabbit Charity, PO Box 23698, London N8 OWS, enclosing a stamped, addressed envelope with a 40p stamp.
