Huddersfield U13 5 v Widnes U13 17
A fine opening win for Widnes in the Yorkshire sunshine was based on a forward display par excellence. Huddersfield were simply overpowered by the like of Critchley, Louganane, Mcann and Ramamouski in the forwards. Lightfoot at hooker only lost one scrum all game so plentiful ball was assured. The tries came from Ramanouski, Barratt and the Mighty Atom Gill. The conversion was slotted over by Highfield.
Strong and determined performance also came from Glover, Wavell, Moss and Duffy. Summer training seems to have paid it's dividend.
