THE mother of a Widnes girl who suffers from a rare muscular disease has lashed out at the person who stuck an offensive sticker on to her car while it was parked in a disabled space at Morrisons supermarket.
Wendy Barr, 25, suffers from Myasthenia Gravis, a condition which causes severe weakening of the muscles.
She went to Morrisons last Wednesday with her boyfriend and their baby to get some shopping, parking in a disabled space.
But when she got back to the car, someone had put a sticker saying "You've had my space, do you want my disability too?" over Wendy's orange badge - the council disabled-parking pass.
"It's one disabled person attacking another," said Wendy's mother Pauline.
"I just can't believe they're going round putting these stickers on disabled people's cars."
Wendy was first diagnosed with the condition more than two years ago.
Although she may look like a healthy young woman to the casual observer, that is far from the case.
Her dad Maurice gave an indication of how it affects Wendy's life: "She has got to take tablets in the night to be able to get up in the morning. She can't nurse her child or anything."
Pauline is appealing for the person behind this sticker to contact her so they can discuss this campaign.
Pauline can be reached at 26, Cradley, Widnes.
